CHARLOTTE, N.C., U.S./BENSHEIM, Germany: After a series of groundbreaking product and solution launches, Dentsply Sirona’s sights are now set on creating the best possible workflow solutions for implant dentistry professionals. The idea is to identify customer-unique solutions that enable high-quality treatment while saving time and effort. As the recent launches of Azento, Astra Tech Implant EV and Acuris have shown, the company intends to remain an innovative leader in implant dentistry.

“Everything we put on the market is based on the needs of the customers, well documented and clinically proven. We will keep making ever better products, finding new solutions and driving industry progress. At the same time, we know that customers are increasingly interested in finding the workflow that best suits their unique needs. By listening to them and assessing their situation, we can pinpoint the products, solutions and services that best help them,” said Gene Dorff, group vice president of implants at Dentsply Sirona.

“Making your work flow”, as the initiative is called, revolves around identifying the smoothest and most convenient workflow for each customer and making sure to deliver whatever is needed to ensure it. In addition to the vast world-class assortment of products and solutions for implant treatment, there is the full offer of the Dentsply Sirona portfolio for a complete solution that creates the best possible workflow and makes the customer’s work flow better.

Astra Tech Implant EV

The Astra Tech Implant System just got even better—with the new Astra Tech Implant EV. There have been over 1,000 published scientific references to the system in peer-reviewed journals, and as one of the most well-documented implant systems on the market today, it continues to evolve and provide great clinical benefits.

In fact, the revised implant design change of the Astra Tech Implant EV comes with significant advantages: with a deeper implant thread design apically, it is easier to reach preferred primary stability, and the handling experience is enhanced for easy installation.

Dr. Marco Toia, from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Medicine in the Faculty of Odontology at Malmö University in Sweden, explained: “I feel more confident with the Astra Tech Implant EV because the apex engages perfectly in the osteotomy. I can feel that the implant is guiding itself, making it really easy to place. This will be very helpful for new clinicians and general dental practitioners.”

Since its launch over 30 years ago, ongoing clinical documentation has demonstrated that the Astra Tech Implant System provides surgical and prosthetic flexibility, maintains marginal bone levels, and delivers reliable and predictable clinical results, as well as natural esthetics, in the short and long term.

This top-of-the-line implant system features pioneering and groundbreaking innovations that are the result of knowledge and understanding of the biological and clinical processes involved in dental implant therapy. These innovations, such as implant–abutment connection, surface technology and implant thread design, contribute to even better clinical results.

Symbios BoneShield titanium membranes

The new BoneShield titanium membrane offers high mechanical stability and excellent biocompatibility, while allowing diffusion of nutrients through unique micropores. The membrane provides 3D stability. Firstly, the smooth titanium surface reduces the adhesion of plaque and bacteria.1–3 Secondly, for ultrathin pliability, the 20 μm profile makes it possible to easily contour and mold the titanium membrane without losing mechanical stability. Thirdly, with its unique micropores, the membrane allows the diffusion of oxygen and enables immune cells to pass through it.1, 2

The enhanced rigidity and superior long-term structural support make BoneShield titanium membranes particularly suitable for procedures such as ridge preservation, sinus elevation and lateral augmentation or for use where there are large bone defects.1, 4 The membranes come in three shapes and sizes: oval (20/15 mm), triangular (21/17 mm) and rectangular (33/25 mm).
