Rhein’83 Srl

Rhein’83 was created in 1983 in Bologna from the idea of a dental technician, Ezio Nardi, keen on research and specializing in overdenture. Spherical attachments were in the market many years before but they were made of metal as well as the caps. Rhein's intuition was developing a series of castable attachments with elastic retention. We can therefore say that Rhein in 1983 introduced for the first time "plastic materials" for mobile prosthesis retention. After an initial period of distrust, plastic materials would completely replace metal attachments becoming among the most imitated products around the world.

Today, the company collaborates with many Italian and foreign universities to test the innovations produced in the laboratories of research and development that have been awarded with the MIUR certificate, Laboratory of Quality and Excellence by the Ministry of Research and Development of Health. Research has led to design and production of components for systems such as Sphero Block (normo and micro) and Sphero Flex correcting divergence up to 46 degrees. Since then low profile Ot Equator attachments were born, a complete system defined 4 in 1 and then attachments for CAD/CAM bars now included in the CAD/CAM software of the biggest companies in the world. All products are made of titanium with an additional Tin coating bearing the hardness of the surface to more than 1,600 Vikers.

The company is also known and recognized for dentists and dental technicians who submit reports, conferences and courses all over the world. These features have made it one of the most important Italian companies in the world. Rhein is therefore successfully present in more than 90 nations.

The company operates in accordance with European product certification (Directive 93/42 CEE) in addition to UNI EN ISO 9001:08 - UNI CEI EN ISO 13485:12. It also has product certifications in many foreign countries such as: FDA / USA, Canada, Russia, Israel, Korea, Brazil etc.

RHEIN’83 TECHNIQUE AND PHILOSOPHY

Rhein’83 has always built retentive elastic attachments with the aim of eliminating FRICTION. We are convinced that attachments cannot be classified as RIGID or RETENTIVE. What is important for Rhein'83 is providing a system of components that enables dental technician to build a rigid, amortized or resilient prosthesis. Using ELASTIC RETENTION Rhein'83 attachment functionality is extended. Through elasticity it is possible to control inflections creating resilient and shock absorbing prosthesis. In cases of OVERDENTURE prostheses or unilateral edentulous free saddles, resilience is manageable through the absorption of retention caps available, more or less elastic. However, when these attachments are used in rigid prosthesis, with isodromic milling and counter-attachments, the sphere and the cap function as a retentive button, so their function will be reduced to keep stability. In recent years a branch successfully developed by Rhein is IMPLANTOLOGY. Rhein produces pre sectioned attachments compatible with over 400 implant houses and with many companies producing attachments a strong partnership is in place. A special attention is paid to the solution of some frequent problems such as disparallelism and attachments to correct up to 43 degrees disparallelism have been produced.

DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH

Source of pride is definitely Rhein’83 department of development and research collaborating with some important Italian universities. The latest innovations include the development of a line of products dedicated to CAD/CAM. Today we can say that Rhein has the most complete line of attachments dedicated to CAD/CAM in the market. This is definitely one of the reasons why Rhein products are present in the most important software.

TRAINIG AND ASSISTANCE

Rhein'83 has always paid particular attention to training. Our intention is producing products that help dental technicians and dentists to find solutions. However, it is essential to use products in the correct way. For this reason we organize theoretical and practical courses in Italy and in all the countries where we are present. The courses are taught by speakers 'dentists and dental technicians' with great experience. The courses are organized in Rhein laboratories in Bologna or in external laboratories. Furthermore, a staff of dental technicians answer the phone or via e-mail every day giving advice to doctors and dental technicians who may have doubts about Rhein "solutions" and their use.

OT Equator implants
Rhein83 introduces OT Equator, the newest line of low profile available for all implant brands. OT Equator is the smallest attachment system on the market. With the aim of optimizing the use of the system, a complete line of kits and accessories is available.

Equator CAD/CAM
Equator Cad / Cam is present in the most important software of the market. With a low vertical profile of 2.1 mm and diameter of 4.4 mm OT Equator is the smallest attachment system on the market.

Equator castable
The castable attachment with the lowest profile on the market. Due to this characteristic it is indicated to correct important divergences. Elastic caps have 4 retention levels depending on colors.

OT BAR
OT BAR is a two-sided bar. It has both a flat and a round surface. Every time can be used according to the needs. If a resilient solution is required the bar is positioned with the flat side facing up. If a rigid solution is required then the bar is positioned with the round side facing up.

OT STRATEGY
OT STRATEGY are precision attachments. It is important that the spheres are mounted in parallel. This will determine the greatest extent of correct function of the unit. The reduced dimensions of these attachments permit them to be applied in very small areas.
