Nepal: Nepalese Society of Periodontology and Oral Implantology (NSPOI) , was founded on 8th January 2014.
NSPOI aims to promote Periodontal and Peri-Implant tissue health in Nepal to improve the awareness regarding Periodontology and Oral Implantology among people of Nepal.
Nepalese Society of Periodontology and Oral Implantology ( NSPOI) held the third annual conference on February 24-26, 2017 in Park Village resort, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. This session educated general dentists and specialists on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases and dental implants.
During these three information-packed days, experienced professionals delved into the many topics like Global burden and impacts of periodontal diseases to dental implant complications.
In collaboration with Geistlich, the pre conference session was conducted where delegates participated on hands on program of bone graft and soft tissue augmentation.
Among International spreakers were Dr. L.J.Jin (Professor, The University of Hongkong) Dr. George Pelekos (UK), Dr Neel Bhatavadekar, Dr Dilip Naik, Dr Balaji Manohar, Dr Pradeep Tandon, Dr. Mohan Baliga, Dr. Ravi Kiran N and Dr.Nigam Buch from India. Dr Rita Singh, Dr Neil Pandey and Dr Bhageswor Dhami were among speakers from Nepal.
The first issue of journal of Nepalese Society of Periodontology and Oral Implantology JNSPOI was also launched in the program.
Dr Rita Singh who took over as President of NSPOI on February 25, 2017 said that “My team and I are delighted and determined to take Nepalese Society of Periodontology and Oral Implantology to the next level.”
