Figure 3. Resolution of the sinus tract with a dry defect internally. The defect was filled from an internal approach with BC putty. Calcium hydroxide was placed into the canal for an additional 2 weeks.

Figure 5 .Clinically probing was normal and the sinus tract had disappeared. The 6 and 15 month follow up radiographs show bone fill in of the resorptive defect.

New research may expedite regenerative dentistry

STOCKHOLM, Sweden: Understanding of cell types and the mechanisms of dental growth is essential for the reconstruction and engineering of teeth. Therefore, researchers from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm have investigated the cellular composition of growing and non-growing mouse and human teeth. They believe that the new data on the cellular make-up and growth of teeth could accelerate developments in regenerative dentistry and in the treatment of tooth sensitivity.

IDEM 2020 to be a digital experience

SINGAPORE: Originally, the 11th International Dental Exhibition and Meeting (IDEM) was scheduled to take place in April 2020 and was then moved to 19–21 June to ensure attendees’ health and safety during the COVID-19 crisis. However, now that the outbreak has become a pandemic and the situation is not expected to stabilise in time for the show, the event organisers have decided to move IDEM 2020 online.
