Dr. Shikha Sharma is the Editor of the Endodontics section of Dental Tribune South Asia.

Dr. Shikha completed her BDS at Punjab Government Dental College and Hospital, Amritsar, where she was a Gold Medallist and Best Graduate.

She secured Rank 1 in the Punjab State Post Graduate Entrance Exam in 2011 and earned her MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from Punjab Government Dental College and Hospital, Amritsar.

Dr. Shikha is currently serving as a Medical Officer (Dental), Punjab Government —providing expert dental care to the community since 2014.

Pursued Observership at the Department of Endodontics, Dental School, University of Adelaide, Australia in 2017.

She was adjudged the Best Postgraduate Student at the BITEIN Awards 2014.

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES:

1. Dr. Sharma takes a keen interest in creating awareness on the prevention and management of dental diseases amongst the masses. She visits government and private schools regularly taking lectures and workshops for school children, laying significance on tooth brushing techniques and a healthy diet for a caries-free mouth.
2. She conducts school training camps on providing first aid to children sustaining dental injuries during school hours as a result of falls or engaging in sports.
3. Regularly, in collaboration with the gynecology department of her hospital, she imparts valuable knowledge to pregnant females on the significance of oral hygiene practices during and after pregnancy, taking care of the infant’s oral hygiene, and the role of breastfeeding in ensuring healthy jaw development.
4. Apart from clinical practice, Dr. Sharma’s impact extends to the realm of public speaking. Her eloquence, knowledge, and ability to connect with audiences propelled her to the ranks of TOP 250 speakers of the country in a nationwide hunt for the Best Speaker in the country held by SuccessGyan Academy in a fiercely competitive arena with over 2 lakh participants.
5. She was adjudged the Best Postgraduate Student at the BITEIN Awards 2014.
6. As a speaker, she has engaged entrepreneurs at BNI Amritsar with her insights and knowledge.
7. Additionally, she delivers enlightening talks on fostering healthy parenting practices at esteemed kindergarten institutes within the city.
