Dr Vishakha is a periodontist with her MDS completed at KLE VK Institute of Dental Sciences, Belagavi

What drives her is a simple belief: people should have every opportunity to preserve their natural teeth before they are lost.

Once natural teeth and their supporting tissues are lost, recreating them remains incredibly challenging. This is what draws her toward regenerative science—exploring whether we can develop better ways to restore what periodontal disease has already taken away, and ultimately make these advances more predictable and meaningful for patients.

Dr Vishakha is currently exploring emerging research in periodontal regeneration, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, particularly how regenerative approaches can become more predictable, clinically practical and accessible.

In the long term, she plans to combine exceptional clinical care with an active research direction focused on bringing regenerative science closer to meaningful periodontal care.
