The root canal space is never a perfectly round shape. The shaping of these spaces is difficult. What also is difficult is the obturation of such canals that are probably oval or dumbbell in shape.

The 3 D obturation or the warm gutta-percha technique gives us a complete seal of such canal spaces close to 100%. This video demonstrates the technique of obturating the root canals 3 dimensionally using the warm gutta-percha technique.
