BioHorizons was the bronze winner in the “BEST B2B BRAND EXPERIENCE” category at the ninth annual edition of the Marketing Events Awards.
The Marketing Events Awards, organized by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, honors and rewards excellence in event marketing across Southeast Asia, South Asia, and ANZ regions.
The win is for Katara Dental Smile Rewards – a customer appreciation program.
Katara Dental has its origins in the well-known DENTECH LABORATORY of Mumbai set up in 1985 by Dr. Mukesh Katara. It is able to meet the wide range of demands from small dental practices to large dental clinics from its 3 dental laboratories in India.
Katara Dental has been partnering with BioHorizons to provide a comprehensive portfolio of dental implants and biologics products to implantologist, prosthodontists, and dentists in India.

Together with BioHorizons (Global office in USA and APAC office in Singapore), Katara Dental launched its Smile Rewards on the 19th of May 2020 amid the COVID unrest. COVID-19 has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear arises when India had its first nationwide lockdown. The local and global economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic was and has continued to be a challenge. Dentistry was not spared from this pandemic.

Patients need to feel safe visiting dental clinics and not let this affect their oral health. Patients with poor oral health may end up with more severe symptoms if they catch the coronavirus – especially those with conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or cardiovascular disease.
Unity is what is needed to overcome the pandemic. A loyalty program creates a special sense of kinship between the customers and the brand. Although customer loyalty programs are nothing new, it is not common for Dentistry in India.
Katara Dental Smile Rewards is a tiered loyalty program - Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. It offers both points and benefits to customers. The membership tier is subject to customers’ purchases at Katara Dental during the previous financial year. The benefits are available throughout the program year. Points accumulated can be used to redeem for local continuing education courses organized by BioHorizons. Depending on the membership tier, benefits to customers include products discounts, dedicated Customer Service Manager, free shipping and handling fee, surgical kit, product support package, and continuous education programs held locally and/or internationally.
Smile rewards have been running for more than a year and we are seeing positive outcomes. Not only did it retain all the customers, the customer base increased by 17%.
