October 1st observed by IDA as International day for elderly people

Mumbai, India: International day for elderly people is celebrated on 1st of October worldwide to examine dental issues, promote public awareness and focus on which type of behavior can help older men and women throughout their life.

To mark this occasion the Indian Dental Association (IDA) head office conducted a dental camp for senior citizens at Aaji Aajoba Udyan, Shivaji Park, Dadar (W) on Sunday 30th September 2018 with theme ‘bringing better oral care for senior citizens’

Around 100 senior citizens were screened between the ages of 60 to 91 yrs. Many elders participated in the camp after their morning walk and exercise . the camp was managed by IDA dentists and staff.

The young and dedicated IDA team comprised of Dr. Visalakshi, Dr. Prerana, Dr. Smruti, Dr.Ria, who had a good interaction with the participants. They explained brushing techniques, helped understand their oral health related problems and advised treatment accordingly. Mr.Gurjar from Aaji Aajoba Udyan co-ordinated with the IDA team.

The Guest of Honour were eminent seniors clinicians Dr. Dilip Deshpande and Dr. Shobha Deshpande.. Dr. Dhoble, Hon. Secretary General of IDA, honoured them for the excellent coordination for this initiative.
